Sunday Summary #142

My week this week was busy with Board Meetings for both the Golf Club and my Guild. I also had 2 quilting days at the Guild. I did however, manage to sew every day.

My next week has A Golf Club Board Meeting, a Guild general meeting and organizational meeting for our fundraiser, and three different days of DH’s medical appointments. I’m keeping positive that I will manage to sew every day since I have a couple of deadlines to meet.

Had to share my view this morning, welcome rain (except for the risk of flooding again), pretty river fog and a golf course that is greening up so nicely 😁

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects. No progress. 😢

2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and decide on my final plan for sashing and borders.😉. I found the fabric I needed in my stash and have started planning and measuring to make sure it works!

They are off the back burner and I’m checking for fabric in my stash to see if can do what I’m thinking of. 😉

3. Finish writing my post for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. Done and published! 😁

4. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. Some progress but no photos yet 😉

5. Finish hand sewing the bindings on my UFOs.Some Progress! 😁

6. Sandwich and quilt the pattern test quilt. Some progress! 😁

It’s sandwiched and ready to quilt. 😁

7. Finalize my projects to use for the next Sew-It Show-It Challenge, When Pigs Fly, being hosted by Joan from Moosestash Quilting. I’m working on it now! 😁

8. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the box of treasures I received from Denise. I’ll try to behave and only do them as leader/Enders until I get caught up on my list. 😉 I’m having fun with these and will be sharing soon! 😁

9. Start thinking up a project for the July Sew It – Show It Challenge, Punic Party, hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. I think I might have a plan! 😁

13. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me. 🐿🐿🐿🐿 Success! I didn’t start anything new or get sidetracked! 😁

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks.

3. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.

4. Need to finish this! Binding is attached to the front; just needs to be hand stitched to the back! Let Your Star Shine #2 from a pattern by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. I added extra borders to make it larger. Finished size is 44 1/2” square.

5. Finish squaring up and binding this panel quilt.

6. Quilt the pattern test quilt.

7. Finalize my projects to use for the next Sew-It Show-It Challenge, When Pigs Fly, being hosted by Joan from Moosestash Quilting.

8. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the box of treasures I received from Denise. I’ll try to behave and only do them as leader/Enders until I get caught up on my list. 😉

9. Start thinking up a project for the July Sew It – Show It Challenge, Picnic Party, hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me. 🐿🐿🐿🐿

Studio To – Do List

1. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

2. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts which I left at the studio. 😳

3. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

4. Finish my DWR which is on the frame.

  • February 28/28
  • March 31/31
  • April 23/30
  • May 18/20
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 124/133
  • Total: 131/140
  • Percentage = 93.57 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 10 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 61 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 51 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year. 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

    1. Thank you so much 😊
Keeping busy is easy when your sewing corner is 6’ from the TV and hubby is a channel flipper. Earbuds, audiobooks and fabric saves my sanity 😉

  1. I’m impressed that you’re already working on “when pigs fly” and that you have a plan for “picnic” …. I have a UFO in mind for “when pigs fly” … and haven’t a clue what to make for the picnic blog hop!
You’ve had a busy week and you’ve still managed to get a lot done! Good for you! 🙂

  2. I am taking a week or two off of posting (maybe), but I had to jump in a read a few TDT posts! Your projects are so colorful and fun. Like Gail, I have a UFO (or two) in mind for the PIGS challenge and have been tempted by a couple patterns for the picnic one, but I haven’t started on either one. I like that you have a list for home and one for studio projects. That photo of the fog/rain is beautiful!

  3. Love your wall hanging, Carol…and your view this morning – looks so peaceful. I have lots of PIGS for Joan’s hop!! I need to get busy when I finish my two IB projects! Looking forward to seeing your two colorful quilts finished! You had a busy week, but managed to sew every day. Have fun with your goals this week and as busy a schedule as you have, I hope you get to sew every day this week too! Thanks for sharing with Monday Musings!

  4. It’s amazing how those meetings and appointments can throw off your sewing time. You’ve done well on that metric this year. Hopefully this week went smoothly as well.
