My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #136

Last week my week started with a trip to the studio on Sunday late evening. I had a couple of things to take care of and some chores that D. needed help with. Once I finished helping out I sewed my border on the wonky log cabin block quilt. I got my excercise cleaning the downstairs deck and cleaning the dog’s space. Then DH called and I had to cut my trip short, driving home and arriving Tuesday at 5:30 am. 😳 I wasn’t able to get ferry photos this trip. It was dark when I drove both ways, but things might line up for me to go back soon. 🤔

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame. No time to work on it. 😢

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks in between my other projects. The centres are made and just need to be sewn down. 😁

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio. Didn’t happen.

6. Keep working on my project for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting. Just need to finish my post.😁

7. Keep working on my RSC Challenge blocks. It’s purple this month but I didn’t get any done! 🤔

8. Start planning a project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here. Started cutting fabrics. 😁

9. Prepare my backing for my Double Wedding Ring Quilt. Done!

Just needs to be pressed and it will be ready for it’s turn on the frame. 😃

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿 Samantha got me again! Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts is hosting her annual QAL and it’s just started. I am a sucker for Sandra’s patterns and this one features houses! My fabrics are cut and sewing has begun! 😉

11. Finish putting the border on my scrappy, wonky quilt. (Forgot to put it on my list last week). Done! 😁

The piano makes a good stand when it’s raining outside 😉

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks centres. I really need to finish this one soon. 😉

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Finish my blog post for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

7. Start working on my purple RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Start working on my project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here.

9. Keep up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me from my list or tempt me with any new projects. 🐿🐿🐿🐿

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Saturday as my week end.

  • January 31/31
  • February 28/28

  • April 6/8
  • this week 5/7
  • Previous Total 91/91
  • Total: 96/98
  • Percentage = 100 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 9 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 68 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 59 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed even though I won a gift certificate for the FQS from Chris @ Chris Knits for participating in the SAHRR! 😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year. 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Samantha seems to be a very determined squirrel, but you got a lot done anyway. That Rainbow Neighborhood QAL looks like fun!
