My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #134

Another week of several trips to town for appointments, meetings and picking up prescriptions and supplies for my DH. It wasn’t possible for me to get away to the studio so not much progress on my ToDo List this week. 😢

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame. Didn’t happen

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. No progress on the Dresden blocks, but I have a plan decided on for the centres finally, but need my Accuquilt cutter and dies which are at the studio. 😁

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio. Didn’t happen.

6. Keep working on my project for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

7. Put the last border on my scrappy quilt. Working on it! 😉

8. Keep working on my RSC Challenge blocks. A few more done!

9. Start planning a project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿. The squirrels got me! Had to kit up a project to take with me on vacation and do a pattern test. 😉

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks centres. 😉

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Finish my project and blog post for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

7. Keep working on my green RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Start working on my project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here.

9. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿

10. Pack and get blog posts written and scheduled before our trip.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 31/31
  • February 28/28
  • March 25/25
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 77/77
  • Total: 84/84
  • Percentage = 100 %

To see how our blogging friends are doing check out Kate’s blog: Life in Pieces

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 0 yard
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 78 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 78 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed but we are only two weeks away from a vacation trip and I know there are some great LQS along the way.😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year. If I can get to the studio before we go on vacation I should finally have some more progress on my PHD. 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. WOW!!! I’m so proud of you for not buying any fabric!!!! You are doing SEW well!!!
So, a lot of your To Do didn’t get done … but if you can’t get to the studio – you can’t do those items! I hope you don’t stress about it! Those things are on your list for when you can get there!
In the meantime, Happy Quilting! 🙂

It is a great goal only buy fabric if you do really need it for a special use. Congrats for not buying any fabric till now. Have a nice week, Carol!

      1. Oh that sounds fun! We visited LV several times in the 80s and 90s, and there was always so much to see and do there – plus of course the slot machines – lol! You are accustomed to mountains, but because we are fascinated with them, we drove up to Mount Charleston, a town in the mountains west of Vegas, and had a delightful steak dinner at a little inn. I’ll be thinking of you!

  3. Isn’t it frustrating when real life keeps you from your quilting? That said, right now my biggest competitor for quilting time is the garden, which I love too. So my lack of quilting time is totally self-inflicted. Have fun on your vacation!

  4. Hi Carol! I get anxious just reading your list each week. I definitely think you need a vacay. Desperately. Vegas is all about sunshine! I hope you get to relax and enjoy some handwork and quilt shops on the drive. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thank you Roseanne. My list is actually reasonable since it all needs to be done at the studio. 😉
Unfortunately the vacation is cancelled so I’ll just keep puttering away at home. 😢

  5. Hi Carol! I really enjoy your projects. It is fun to take a look at what you are working on. I haven’t pulled out my EPP for a month of two so it is fun to see someone else’s. Love checking out all the eye candy.

  6. Glad you are kitted up and ready for your trip – that’s important. The squirrels, well sometimes they just win. You will get things done…you have a long list and sometimes that is hard. You do you and things will get done as they need to.

  7. It’ll be lovely for you to go on your trip… and while I admire you not having bought any fabric so far this year, if I were you I would while I was away, lol!! Thanks for joining in with Monday This and That! xx
