My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #128

It’s been another week with the weather alternating between grey, rainy days, some snow days and today was a bright, blue sky day. This week I’m looking forward to two Quilting Days at my Guild, three meetings, two grandchildren and one great grandson’s birthdays. 😉

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. Some progress.

5. Work on the last of the bindings that need to be stitched. Didn’t happen since I had left the last one at the studio. 😢

6. Keep working on my project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. Some progress! 😃

7. Keep working on my pink RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Work on my SAHRR border once the next prompt is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends prompts each week. I’m all caught up on this fun project! 😃

9. Do the new Project Quilting Challenge when it is posted.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me any more this week. 🐿💕🐿. Samantha got to have some fun when I volunteered to do another test block for one of the designers I admire.

This little turtle was designed by Sandra Healy Designs and is part of her sea life/nautical designs which I have had so much fun doing and can be found HERE! I have a plan for this little guy after being able to use some of my favourite batik fabrics for him! 😉

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on. Still not able to plan a trip. Hopefully at the month end.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. 😉

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Keep working on my project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

7. Keep working on my pink RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Work on my SAHRR border once the next prompt is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends prompts each week.

9. Do the new Project Quilting Challenge when it is posted.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me at all this week. 🐿💕🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 31/31
  • February 11/11
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 35/35
  • Total: 42/42
  • Percentage = 100 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 100 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 94 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed.😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. You’ve got a busy week coming up. I miss guild meetings but just can’t make the drive anymore. You have so many projects going on to keep you busy too. I love your hexies and they are so perfect. I don’t know how you do that. And I guess I’d better join you in the brag “I haven’t bought any fabric this year” today, because I may have to buy some tomorrow.

    1. Hi Marti. My Guild is about a mile away so if it’s not miserable, I’m not carrying a machine or the bears aren’t around, I can walk there instead of driving. The trick to my hexies was an iron on water soluble template I press on the back. 😉 you get to go fabric shopping tomorrow? Lucky you. Thank you for your lovely comment. 🤗

    1. Thank you Kathleen. The Guild will be fun and I so wish I could be with family in person for the celebrations. Two are in Mexico and one in northern Alberta so it’s just not possible this year. FaceTime and texts are making do 😉

  2. You are doing really well on sewing days and stash – congratulations! Love the pink gnomes, too. The projects you’re doing are great, and your family sounds like it’s celebrating a lot lately!

  3. I am loving your pink gnome blocks. They are so adorable. Adding a few embroidery embellishments is so nice. Loving the colors in your EPP hexie project! Overall it looks like you had a very successful week! Good luck this week!

  4. Hi Carol! Great job on your list this week. We’ve been having goofy weather, too. One day it was almost 60 degrees in February; today we’ve got all the schools around us closed because of snow and high winds. It’s crazy! I love seeing your double wedding ring quilt coming together, and congrats on keeping up on the SAHRR. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
