In case you missed it, the SAHRR has begun. Last week everyone shared photos of their first border……spools!
See the QAL schedule below:
- January 23: 1st Round: Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us
- January 30 : 2nd Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 6: 3rd Round: Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- February 13: 4th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 20: 5th Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 27: 6th Round: Gail @ Quilting Gail
- March 13: Parade – showing all of your finished SAHRRs!

The prompt this week is from Chris @ Chris Knits and she gave us the Hourglass Block which is also called quarter square triangles.
I had fun making my QSTs. I started with 1 1/2” squares to make my four patches. I use a method that uses four patches and then are sewn and cut which can be found HERE. My QSTs finished at 1 1/4”. I measured up everything and cut my sashing blocks to 1 1/4” and put everything together. My little quilt now measures 20 1/4” x 23”.

I’m looking forward to seeing how I can use the next prompt to do what I have tentatively planned with my little quilt. I finished my border yesterday but am just getting to write about it now. 😅
Thank you for stopping by. I do enjoy our visits and love getting to respond to your comments. 😃 Carol

Hi Gail. Yes those blocks are tiny, but quite easy to make with my tutorial. 😉

Thank you Judy. It works for me and the spin seams reduces the bulk. 😃

Nope, I watched the whole game and was disappointed in the outcome. 😦 And I’m still behind – lol!

lol. We watched the game, too, but having my machine just a few feet from the tv meant I could sew while DH yelled at the tv 😉

These are so much fun! I need to do mine and this method may be fun to try…not that my brain is refreshed.
