ToDo Tuesday #113

I’ll be linking up with To-Do Tuesday which is being hosted by Linda from Texas Quilt Gal and making sure I go see what everyone else is planning for the upcoming week.

Once again it has been a while since I managed to link up with Linda, but life out of my sewing space has been busy. I’ve been back to the studio twice to help K and D, and then had to help my friends with K’s trip to hospice and his final days. It was a blessing to see him finally at peace and free from pain. Another two days were spent making and receiving phone calls and the last decisions. I will be attending my friend’s service on the 22nd.

RIP my dear friend.

A trip home had me receiving a phone call to work the Municipal Elections (3 x 12+ hour days) in the upcoming weeks, and of course this week involved some training days.

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting and EPP projects. No progress.

2. Keep working on my pattern test since everything is cut now. Finished and so much fun.

3. When I get back to the studio, if time allows, I need to finish quilting my version of Sandra Walker’s, A Roll of the Dice. Once again I didn’t manage any time with the longarm.

4. Finish next Blog Hop projects, and get my posts written. The first hop is done and published. The next is now a works in progress and I need to write my post.

5. Do not allow Samantha to sidetrack me this week. 😁🐿. This past weeks my inner squirrel, Samantha, stayed quiet and allowed me the time to deal with life and start grieving for my dear friend.

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting and EPP projects.

2. When I get back to the studio, if time allows, I need to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is on the frame.

3. Finish next Blog Hop project, and get my post written.

4. Work the first day of our Municipal Elections.

5. Start working on a new commission by drafting my design in EQ8.

6. Give poor Samantha, my inner squirrel to a chance to inspire me with a new project to keep me occupied with something crafty this week. 😁🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, but also want to at least spend 30 minutes a week tidying up and dealing with scraps.

  • January 31/31
  • February 28/28
  • March 26/31
  • April 6/30
  • May 13/31
  • June 25/30
  • July 28/31
  • August 24/31
  • September 17/30
  • this week 2/7
  • Previous Total 177/232
  • Total: 198/273
  • Percentage = 64.84 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric previous balance: 59.5 Yards
  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Bought: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 59.5 Yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems to be reasonable to set a goal to continue working from my stash.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash

PHD in 2022

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Thank you for sharing a photo from that lovely tribute to K – we all feel like we knew him too. You are going to be busy between your election training and work and your play time! Samantha does deserve some time too .;) Thank you for joining with us at To Do Tuesday!

  2. Thank you for sharing the tribute to K. I will be thinking of you as the days go by. Allow yourself time to grieve, and let Samantha soothe you with something lovely to work on. Please extend my heartfelt sympathies to D and her family.

  3. What a good friend you have been to K & D. You have done quite a bit in the midst of all of this. Be gentle on yourself…grieving is hard work, too. And if Samantha entices you, so be it. Looking forward to seeing your pattern testing and your blog hop contributions.

    1. Thank you Kathleen. It was a comfort to be able to help my friends. Now I’m in the midst of working our Municipal Elections so I have a bit of time to sit and think of my memories of my friend. 🤗

  4. Thank you for sharing about K!
Have fun at the Elections! I’m at a class on election day – so I need to figure out where/when the advance polls are here! At least I know who I’m voting for! 🙂
