In September I volunteered to do a pattern test for The Quilt Pattern Magazine of “Urban Stars”, written by Barbara Douglas for a finished 54 1/2” square quilt. This pattern is in the February edition of the magazine.

I pulled and pressed some batik fabrics from my stash, printed the pattern and templates, and cut it out in a couple of hours.

Using the paper pieced patterns and the templates for rough cutting the fabrics made the piecing go well.

I did find that trimming the pieces and blocks were really necessary in this pattern because the rough cut templates are a generous size.

This pattern was fun to make. I really enjoyed paper piecing it. it finished at exactly 54 1/2” square.

Once again I enjoyed testing another pattern for The Quilt Pattern Magazine.

I haven’t quilted this flimsy yet because I am debating adding borders to have a larger finished quilt. I’ll update this post as I add on or get it quilted.
Thanks for reading my post. 😉 Carol
That’s a fun design, Carol, and a nice size for a small quilt!

Hi Carol! You and your stash amaze me. Pulling this goodness out of some previously purchased yet unplanned project is awesome. It’s a lovely quilt top supporting a cute pattern. Great job. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you Roseanne. My stash is dwindling so some purchasing might have to occur with some planned projects. 😉 That pattern was fun and it’s on the Do Again List for someday
