Squirrel Attack!

My day started with shovelling and raking the soon to be patio area. The truck was coming with a pallet of paving stones so it had to be done. DH and I headed out but could only work in short stints. The mosquitos were eating us alive. Horrid beasts.

In the break time I was working on my projects for an upcoming hop. Then the squirrels dive bombed me!

I couldn’t stop thinking of a long unfinished UFO project. I had the top all cut and stored in my pizza box filing system. Out it came and strip piecing of 2” squares commenced. There are over 1000 of them in this pattern and all came out of my scrap system.

Then strips were added to the 2 and 4 patches.

As you can see, the hop project was temporarily put to the side!

Tomorrow blocks will be made. 128 of them 😉 I guess this doesn’t count as a DrEAMI project since the pieces were cut in 2015!

What are you working on? Does it involve scraps? Has anyone else developed an extreme addiction to scraps during this Pandemic?

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and fabric fondling happens in your part of the world. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. That outside work sounds rather unpleasant, so I’m glad you had some fun going on in your quilt room! I’m curious about the squirrel, of course! I have one Hop item done, the second is waiting to be quilted. I focused on the challenge quilt yesterday, overthinking and changing things as I go – ha! Oh, and I finished another pincushion! I have enjoyed playing with scraps lately too, but that might be because of the mini plus blocks.

    1. Wendy we have one row of the pavers level now. Only 6 more to go! It is hard on the back and fingers. 🥴 You have one project done? Good for you! I’m fighting with the quilting on mine. I miss my bigger machine 😢. Why do we change things up? I seem to do that also. Another pincushion finished? It’s amazing how much you get done. 😉
