July OMG Finishes!

To date July has been quite the month!

My goal for July was to finish 3 quilt tops.

My first finish was a sweet pattern I was testing. The flimsy is done and in my cue for quilting. It looks like September will be a full month of quilting and binding quilts at the rate I am going!

Here’s a sneak peek of my first finish for July;

Don’t those geese just make you do the happy dance?

Finish number two for July was going to make use of some Christmas strings and strips I was planning on using for a pile of blocks.

A squirrel in the form of an email requesting me to test a pattern resulting in those sweet Christmas fabrics being used in a project which will be released at the end of July. I think I have a sneak peak available;

It was a fun project and gave me an opportunity to get out my rulers and play with some rulerwork while I was quilting these babies. I was also very adventurous and did my first attempt at doing the binding by machine instead of by hand. I know lots of people who do, but I think I will stick with doing it by hand. Must be the chance of fondling those fabrics one last time while snuggling up with a lap full of quilt that makes hand sewing so appealing!

My next finish for July is another Pattern Test. This was nice to just sit and chain piece the blocks. My ripper did get a workout when I was assembling the blocks! I had then numbered and used my pin trick to see which side was the top. I still wound up reversing blocks or putting them upside down! I was so happy this afternoon when I finished the second border and took the top outside for some sunny day pictures. This one will be published later this fall in The Quilt Pattern Magazine. Once it is I can share photos of the finish. In the meantime I can share a photo of some of the fabrics;

Onward and upward. I finished cutting out two more quilts today. I love my Accuquilt cutter and dies! I also checked my leader/ender box and it’s getting full enough that I need to start considering my final layout. Of course there is also the Mosaic Mystery which I signed up for to work on and the QAL that I am doing a hosting day in September to finish up. Let’s not yet think of the UFO List or the two more patterns I volunteered to test! 🥴

Hope your month has been sunny and full of finishes! Thanks for dropping in. Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
