Sunday Summary #243

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on my last To Do list.

It was another crazy busy week. Our Board of Directors decided to open the golf course a month early. It means we had to host our Poker Party fundraiser last Sunday (a good time was had by all🤭) then strip the clubhouse of our deck tables (they are octagonal) and then move all of the tables back inside to get the set up correctly done for the opening of the restaurant. Then I spent a couple of days setting up the Pro Shop, doing inventory and ordering extra stock. On Thursday the golf carts were brought out, shelves and new signs installed, till was re-programmed. Friday was opening day and we had no staff so I got volunteered (I love my DH 😉) and I’ll be working pro bono until we get staff hired. It’s been fun seeing old friends, meeting new people and dealing with the start up glitches. Hopefully we will get staff hired before the end of the month. Keep your fingers crossed because I’m really missing my stitching time 🤭

But then today I received an email from Quilting Gail that I had won a prize in the SAHRR! It’s amazing but I did keep up for the first few rounds before real life got crazy and I am making progress on finishing my SAHRR. I’ll keep you posted when I get the details 😁

My Last To-Do Goals:

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

So now it’s time to see what goals I have on my list this week:

1. Finish my SAHRR. Some progress 😁

2. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks. No progress on a layout, but I did find some more of the orphan blocks. 😢

3. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy. No progress 😢

4. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt. Some progress 😁

5. Keep playing with my UFO. No progress 😢

6. If my parcel comes, get my cutting table set up and my cutting mat serviced. Still no parcel 😢

7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me.  🐿️🐿️. Too funny that I get a check mark for not letting Sam and her buddies tempt me with any new projects. 🤭

This Week’s goals:

Basically my list this week is a duplicate of my last one:

1. Finish my SAHRR.

2. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks.

3. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy.

4. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt.

5. Keep playing with my UFO.

6. If my parcel comes, get my cutting table set up and my cutting mat serviced.

7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 25/31
  • April 2/4
  • this week 2/7
  • previous total: 79/87
  • Total: 83/94
  • Percentage = 88.30 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 55 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Still nothing, but I have been sorting, measuring and pricing donated fabrics for our Guild fundraiser and know I’m going to be tempted to spend some money that day.

Memories of Quilts From the Past

Another quilt top made almost entirely from my scrap bins. It’s in the To Be Quilted bins. Guess I’m going to have to figure quilting on my dsm sooner rather than later to get some of these flimsies finished and out the door. 😉

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
