Sunday Summary #242

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on my last To Do list.

My Last To-Do Goals:

This week had things going sideways with 9 emergency Board meeting to deal with a crisis at the golf club, getting wifi installed at our Guild, preparing for a fundraiser on Sunday.

I left there and woke up the next morning with the nasty bug that’s going around; bronchitis and the worst vertigo I’ve ever experienced. I’m finally feeling well enough to get our party started and report my terrible lack of progress.

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

So now it’s time to see what goals I have on my list this week:

1. Finish my SAHRR. A bit of progress 🥹

2. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks. I did find more and managed to play with a layout, but I’m sure there still are a few more orphan blocks to be discovered in my stash. 🤭

3. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy. No progress 😢

4. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt. No progress 😢

5. Keep playing with my UFO. Some progress, but no photos. 😁

6. If my parcel comes, get my cutting table set up and my cutting mat serviced. No parcel delivered yet. 🥹

✅ 7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me. 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️. Success. Real life was too crazy to allow for any distractions in my sewing corner. 😁

This Week’s goals:

Basicly my list this week is a duplicate of my last one:

1. Finish my SAHRR.

2. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks.

3. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy.

4. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt.

5. Keep playing with my UFO.

6. If my parcel comes, get my cutting table set up and my cutting mat serviced.

7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 23/28
  • this week 2/7
  • previous total: 77/80
  • Total: 79/87
  • Percentage = 90.8 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 55 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Still nothing, but I have been sorting, measuring and pricing donated fabrics for our Guild fundraiser and know I’m going to be tempted to spend some money that day.

Memories of Quilts From the Past

This was a pattern test I’d done, but I can’t find my notes to know for whom, when or any details. 😢

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

PS. Thank you if you bought me a coffee. I do appreciate your support. It really does make a difference in my world. 🤗

This is so me as I am recovering from my run in with a nasty bug. If I sit in my chair I’m nodding off within minutes. 🤭

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
