Sunday Summary #240

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on my last To Do list.

My Last To-Do Goals:

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

1. Get caught up with my SAHRR. Not quite caught up yet. 😢

✅2. Get the pattern test quilt to flimsy stage by the end of the week to meet my deadline. Done and in the To Be Quilted bin. I’ll show it off when the pattern is published. 😁

My last Mount Scrapmore pile is gone into the bin. Scraps get saved and donated to an organization that uses the trimming to fill coffins for natural burials.

✅3. Finish the commission quilt. I’m just finishing the quilting. Then the binding! 😁

Had to share a peek at these fabrics and how they are looking together. 😉

4. For a break from these intense projects, I’ll try to get some progress on the memory quilts, the quilt for Nova Scotia or the Butterflies and Owls projects. No progress😢

✅5. Do not allow my squirrel, Samantha and her friends to sidetrack me from my list projects! 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️. No being sidetracked! I stuck to my list and almost crossed off 2 huge projects! 😁

This Week’s goals:

I had a great time during one of the 5 out of 7 days of power outages. I was able to clear off my cutting table and put away the leftover fabrics from the pattern test and commission quilt. I do have a wee stack of scraps to trim up to squares and strips for my scrap boxes. I always enjoy seeing my table tidied up. It means I’ll soon be starting a new project.

I’m guessing the next project will be playing with those lovely orphan blocks from Deborah. I also will be re-organizing my cutting table because I just won a new ruler rack from a fun giveaway on the Silly Moon Quilting Company FB page. 🤭

So now it’s time to see what goals I have on my list this week:

1. Get caught up with my SAHRR.

2. Plan a project for the last Project Quilting Change for the year.

3. Back to playing with the quilt to Nova Scotia.

4. Back to work on the Butterflies and Owls quilt since I now have a home for it to go to.

5. I received a lovely package of orphan blocks from Deborah. They will go perfectly with some of my extra blocks and I think I even have a plan for them.

6. When I receive my new ruler rack I will clean off my cutting table again and give my cutting mat a good service.

7. Do not allow my squirrel, Samantha and her friends to sidetrack me from my list projects! 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 7/31
  • this week 7/7
  • previous total: 63/66
  • Total: 70/73
  • Percentage = 95.89 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 7 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 55 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Still nothing, but I have been sorting, measuring and pricing donated fabrics for our Guild fundraiser and know I’m going to be tempted to spend some money that day.

Memories of Quilts From the Past

Only photo I have of this fun kid’s quilt is one when I was doing the binding. 🤭

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

PS. Thank you if you bought me a coffee. I do appreciate your support. It really does make a difference in my world. 🤗

I wish I could send quilts to everyone in the world that is in danger these days since I was lucky enough to have my son travel safely back to his home. 🥹

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. You made good use of those power outages by getting things organized in your sewing room. I did a bit of that this week, but really have a lot more that needs to be done. In spite of the power outages you did pretty well at moving along with your to do list as well. You had a good week. Fingers crossed this week is even better.

    1. Thank you Kate. It’s good to have things tidied up for a while. I’m having fun finishing those big projects and looking forward to having a variety of projects back out to work on.
