Sunday Summary #236

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on last week’s list.

This week I only had 4 meetings, one trip to town for DH’s meds and 2 afternoons of trying to chase people off the course since it’s too wet and still partially frozen. 🥹

But I’ve had oodles of time to sew, even if I can’t show off many photos. 🤩

My Last To-Do Goals:

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

✅1. Finish this week’s prompt for the SAHRR. Kathleen McMusing provided the round 2 prompt, “Make it a Double”. Here’s where I’m at so far: Success! I finished in time to link up my post. You can read about it here. The prompt was Double up so I doubled my borders by adding the green coping strip and then my modified Double Monkey Wrench border. 😁

✅2. Keep making progress with the pattern test. Almost half of the blocks are made for this one! 😁

This is the third pile of trimmings from the 2 quilts; gotta love piecing, FPP and EPP with wax paper! No, there’s no appliqué 🤭

✅3. Make more progress on the Commission quilt. Almost half way done the blocks for the queen/ almost king size quilt. 😁

✅4. Can I come up with an idea for Project Quilting 17.3 which was announced today? I did come up with a project. You can pop over here to see how I came up with the idea for this one 🤭

5. For a break from these intense projects, I’ll try to get some progress on the memory quilts, the quilt for Nova Scotia or the Butterflies and Owls projects. No progress on any of these this week.

✅6. Try to maintain some control with Samantha, my inner squirrel, and not allow her to sidetrack me to start anything new until I get some of these finished. 🐿️🐿️🐿️. I managed to not start anything new, but I did print a couple of patterns for my “must make” file 🤭

This Week’s goals:

So it’s time to see what goals I have on my shortened list this week:

1. Finish this week’s prompt for the SAHRR. Emily from Darling Dogwood has given us the 3rd prompt “Animal Kingdom”. Here’s where I’m at so far:

2. Keep making progress with the pattern test.

3. Make more progress on the Commission quilt.

4. For a break from these intense projects, I’ll try to get some progress on the memory quilts, the quilt for Nova Scotia or the Butterflies and Owls projects.

5. Try to maintain some control with Samantha, my inner squirrel, and not allow her to sidetrack me to start anything new until I get some of these finished.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 7/7
  • this week 7/7
  • previous total: 31/31
  • Total: 38/38
  • Percentage = 100 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 100 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Another trip to the LQS, but nothing came home 😉

Memories of Quilts From the Past

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but look; there’s now 2 UFO’s completed in 2026. I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
