2025 was a strange year with too much going on and for several months I had little to no time to do any stitching. The last part of the year things settled down and I was able to stitch with my machine and enjoy doing handwork almost every day.

That means I need to set my goals while being realistic since so much of my life depends on DH and how his days are going.
So for 2026 I’m going to be realistic and keep my goals down to:
Goal #1 – Hosting the To-Do Tuesday Linky Party
So many of our friends link up and like me, use our To Do Lists to keep us on track with moving our projects along and I set my weekly goals to determine which projects need to be done first. It’s always a joy to read everyone’s posts and cheer them on as they make progress or finish their projects. I am going to try to check the linked posts daily instead of at the end of the week. I just need to schedule a time each day for computer time.

Goal #2 – Posting my Sunday Summary Post/To – Do List
I need to remember to do my list every Sunday and then link to all of the parties I enjoy being part of. I often forgot to link up because my life was so hectic.
Goal #3 – Get my UFO and WIP Tracker up to date
I fell out of the habit of using my trackers last year so I’m updating and reformatting it to allow myself to hold myself more accountable. This year I need to concentrate more on the computer time.
Goal #4 – Do the SAHRR
Gail from Quilting Gail is the creative soul behind the Stay at Home Round Robin. Several amazing designers work with Gail now to encourage us to create a fun new quilt. You can click on the logo or her name to get the details. I’ve done the SAHRR for a few of the years and really enjoy the challenge and fun.

Goal #4 – Project Quilting Season 17

Kim from Persimmon Dreams is the creative behind Project Quilting and between her and Trish they keep us on our toes with a week to create a quilt. It starts January 4, 2026, and I’d like to complete at least some of the projects.
Goal #5 – Start and Finish a Commission
I’m meeting with a client this week to finalize the design, colours and fabrics for a queen size quilt for her son’s wedding gift. it’s always exciting to start a new project.
Goal #6 – Complete the WIPs I have on the go
At this time I have 5 or 6 projects in various stages of completion. Other than the SAHRR, the commission and Project Quilting I am not giving myself permission to start anything new.

Goal #7 – Project Bins
I counted and I have 9 planned projects in bins or project bags that I’d really like to do this year. They have been sitting for a couple of years; fabrics and patterns already pulled. It’s time now to get these done.
Goal #8 – Samantha’s Choice
As this year goes by I am giving my inner squirrel, Samantha, permission to sidetrack me occasionally with those DrEAMI projects; the ones you see and have to drop everything else and just do it!
Goal #9 – Pattern Testing
Continue to do some pattern testing as time and opportunity allow. It’s always fun to do them and I love the challenge of making sure I don’t miss any errors.

Goal #10 – Enjoy Life
My biggest goals this year are to continue taking care of myself and my DH; dealing with everything as it comes up. I’m going to keep up with being busy with my Guild, as Treasurer and Fundraising Co-ordinator, and with the Golf Club, as Secretary and Fundraising Committee Chairperson. I’m finding better ways of coping with stress, learning to say “No”, and organizing computer time. This just might be the year I learn to use EQ8 (which I purchased 3 years ago?!?) instead of still using pencil and paper to design my quilts. I also will continue getting out for walks when the bears aren’t hanging around. Yes, I can say that we have finally gone a week with no one reporting bear sightings. All I can say is I’m so happy to finally have winter, although there’s still not much snow on the ground.
That’s my idea of a decent list of yearly goals, focusing on stress free creativity. Thank you for visiting, and checking out my goals for 2026. 😁 Carol

Good luck with your goals, Carol. The year is bright and shiny and new and holds so many possibilities. I love what you say at the end…Enjoy Life. It is hard to do sometimes when we have so many obligations, but time is precious and our loved ones are even more precious. Again, wishing you a fabulous year enjoying your life!
