Hello from a wet, cooler valley in BC! No we still don’t have snow so I’m still busy with the Golf Club. I think we are setting a record for attendance, but considering we are the only golf course still open in this part of the Kootenays it’s not that surprising!

My week was busier than usual with meetings, volunteering at the Golf Club and more medical appointments for DH.
My Last To-Do Goals:

I didn’t have a chance to work on things from my list as much as I’d hoped because I was busy trying to finish my blog hop project and doing some secret sewing. Yes I started something new; a pattern test with a very tight deadline! 🤔
Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:
🔲 Keep making bags for the Christmas Hampers/Party that I have kitted up. Managed to get some stitching time on these bags! 😁

🔲 Get the needlepoint stitched so I can decide how to finish it. I wasn’t able to finish it yet! 😢

🔲 Finish the quilt top using the leftover bits of blocks I have from Denise’s Treasure boxes she sent of goodies; leftovers and fabric pieces. This is back on the list because I decided I do have to add borders.

🔲 Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks No progress this week. 😢

🔲 Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia. I did a bit more on these filler blocks! 😁

🔲 Keep working on my project for the Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop in December. It’s coming along and I’m happy with it. 😁

🔲 Finish more blocks for the memory quilts No progress 😢

🔲 If I finish any of the above projects I will start another of the projects from my project bins. No finishes so I couldn’t work on anything from these project bins. 😢

🔲 Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me again or sidetracking me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️ Samantha and her buddies convinced me to do another Pattern Test! 🤔
This Week’s goals:
The restaurant in the clubhouse is now on a winter schedule and only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That means I have a corner set up with one of my machines and a cutting mat. In between checking golfers in I should be able to play with fabric.
I have town trips for DH’s meds and an appointment and an Executive Meeting at the Guild, but otherwise I should have plenty of fabric fun time!

1. Keep making some bags for the Christmas Hamper/Dinner event in December from everything I have kitted up.
2. Work on the Pattern Test. There are almost 800 pieces in this beauty! 🤭

3. Get the needlepoint stitched so I can decide how to finish it.s
4. Finish the quilt top using the leftover bits of blocks I have from Denise’s Treasure boxes she sent of goodies; leftovers and fabric pieces.
5. Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks.
6. Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia.
7. Keep working on my project for the Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop in December. Carol from Just Let Me Quilt is stepping up to host this one
8. Finish more blocks for the memory quilts
9. If I finish any of the above projects I will start another of the projects from my project bins.
10. Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me again or sidetracking me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️
Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔
- January 4/31
- February 2/28
- March 10/31
- April 12/30
- May 29/31
- June 28/30
- July 31/31
- August 30/30
- September 26/30
- October 25/31
- November 8/30
- this week 7/7
- Previous Total: 207/306
- Total: 214/313
- Percentage = 68.37 %
I was able to get my stitching time in again this week. I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 🤩
- Fabric Used: 8 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 15 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 9 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 36 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 50 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage. I’m lessening my goal since I’ve been using mostly scraps, leftover bits and donated treasures and since I’ll not be getting to use my longarm my backing fabric usage will be minimal.😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!
Memories of Quilts From the Past

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.
I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List
Last but not least I have to update my UFO Speadsheet and then try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability now that I have gone through everything in my storage room and sewing space. I think I’ve given up on getting this updated. I might just wait and start fresh next year. 🫤.

PS. Thank you if you bought me a coffee. I do appreciate your support.

Surprisingly, we got a few flakes of snow this morning but I’m glad it was just a few and they stopped shortly after coming down! With a blog hop entry and a pattern test (not to mention volunteering at the golf course and your husband’s appointments) you have a lot of firm deadlines and commitments. The great thing about crafty projects, they have no problem waiting around until you return, LOL!!

Hi Vivian. I’m jealous of the snow. We still haven’t had any and if it shows in the forecast for next week it changes within a couple of days. It’s beginning to feel like my life “might” return to normal soon (more stitching time every day) if we ever do get the snow. Thank you for your lovely comment. 🤗

Hope you get lots done in your new sewing corner. It’s been such a warm autumn, it’s going to be a shock with the really cold weather gets here.

Hi Kate. I’ve had a good week with my stitching time. It’s still raining here with no snow in sight! At least we are getting moisture; in any form it’s welcome and our rivers are rising already.

Almost 800 pieces stopped me! If I’m doing a mystery quilt and don’t “know” I’m going to be sewing nearly 800 pieces I might do it. But I like smaller quilts and bigger pieces. Not to say I don’t have a lot of UFO’s. Hopefully you’ll keep the snow up where you live… I’m in the Mid-Atlantic area and will hope we don’t see snow for an another 2 months. January’s our snowy month. And, it usually melts fast. I tend to not sew as much during snow as I like to look at it. And, rarely I help clear it! Hope you’ve had a good week.

Hi Bonnie. I love testing patterns for designers but when I started cutting that one it amazed me when the pieces started adding up! It’s so much fun putting it all together and I’m really liking the pattern. Still no snow here in Southwest BC. Lots of rain and I’m happy to take moisture in any form after the past few years of wildfire seasons. Usually December and January are our heavy snow months so I’d love to get some soon and keep it here instead of it going your way. 😉
