My Last To-Do Goals:
Another week with stitching fun and two days at my Guild to play with fabric. Monique and I had duelling Featherweights and I have to say (now that I’m using it) I am in love with this machine. It just purrs when we are playing. It was quiet its many of our quilters busy with their gardens. These days the food they grow has become even more crucial with most of us being pensioners. I even was busy picking many of the berries that grow wild around the Guild and the Golf Club; raspberries, strawberries and saskatoons are so abundant this year. It only took me an hour to pick ice cream pails of each of the berries. They are now frozen for later use. The apples and pears won’t be long until they are ready for picking and the walnut tree is going to have a decent crop for our dyers to use this winter in their classes and projects. still no news on any of my machines being ready to come home, but I’m happy using the Featherweight. I can see now why they are so popular and sought after. ❤️

Featherweights 😉
The other fun news I have to share is the fact that thanks to one of my Guild members giving me a gift, I had to spend some time clearing off my cutting table and dealing with the scraps I had accumulated in the past couple of months:

- It’s so much fun to have a blog hop on my list again! Melva from Melva Loves Scraps decided to do a hop so I had to join in! I’m making progress and will have my post live on July 24th! 😁

2. Keep working on my hand stitching since slow stitching is so relaxing. I’m making progress and can share that these will be part of my Christmas in July Blog Hop project on July 24! 😁

3. Continue working with the blocks for the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. All I can do is determine layouts and cut sashing strips until my machine comes home. No progress 😢

4. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. I do feel better now that these are organized with patterns or notes, but I’ve not had time to get working on them. 😢

5. Finish making the quilt top from my crumb pieces and a leftover bit from a panel. No progress 😢

6. Make some time to make progress on Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it finished a while ago.. No progress 😢

7. Continue fixing popped seams and stay stitching the edges of the next bin of quilt tops for Liz’s project. Now that everything is sorted and I can use my Featherweight, I need to get this bin finished by month end, but I’ve not yet done much 😢

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me. 🐿️🐿️🐿️
This Week’s goals:

In between Golf Club meetings, issues and DH’s medical appointments and tests, and dealing with some family stuff I should be able to keep stitching every day 😉
Melva Loves Scraps is hosting this fun hop. I’m in!

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔
- January 4/31
- February 2/28
- March 10/31
- April 12/30
- May 29/31
- June 28/30
- July 19/19
- this week 7/7
- Previous Total: 98/193
- Total: 105/200
- Percentage = 52.5 %
I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 🤩
- Fabric Used: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 15 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 9 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 186 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. 😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.
I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List
Last but not least I have to update my UFO Speadsheet and then try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability now that I have gone through everything in my storage room and sewing space. I’ve not made any progress on this, but I might have the time to concentrate this weekend after my Blog Hop project goes live. 😅

PS. Thank you to the amazing people who have bought me a coffee on Kofi! It helps cover some of my blogging costs.

Congrats on all the progress this week. You’ve definitely been on a roll with working in your stitching time. Happy stitching this week.

Congrats on finding a work around on the machine issues. That’s quite a bin to get through!

Hi Donna. Yes the bin is a good size but there’s only 10 or 12 quilt tops in there. Liz has 268 altogether that we are helping her stabilize and fix popped seams so they can be hung. 🥴

You made good progress this week, Carol. I’ve never sewn on a featherweight and do not own one. They have become so expensive around here and honestly I don’t need another machine to sit in a case! LOL I’m glad you are enjoying yours but hope you get your regular machines back soon. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.

Hi Brenda. I was lucky and got an amazing deal on my featherweight (under $300 USD). Now that I’ve started using it I think it’s my favourite machine. It sounds so quiet and just hums and the stitches are beautiful! Thanks for hosting us again! 🤗
