Happy Canada Day

Here it is one of my favourite holidays of the year. it always makes me think of my father, an RCAF veteran who served in WW2. As a child living in Europe on base, I remember my father and mother always planning a trip so we could be in places that were significant; either in our Canadian history or to my family history. From year to year we children never knew if we would be in a city checking out the locations of past generation’s family homes, or in places like Dacau or Normandy Beach.

For now I’m just content to be living in a province with mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers; a place where we have a crazy mix of people and never know what adventures most week’s bring.

I’m proud to be a Canadian with a very varied heritage; American, English, Irish, Scot’s and even a bit of Italian and German thrown in for good measure.

I do hope you all have a happy, healthy and safe holiday and take the time appreciate the amazing country we live in.

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

    1. Thank you Bonnie. It was a very unique childhood. We travelled a lot and I did a lot of moving around while raising my family. Now I live on a golf course, in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains, trees, lakes and rivers; a bit of heaven. I’m content to stay here for many more years. I’m lucky enough to have the ocean 6 hours away so when the need to see big water hits, it’s doable. 🤗
