Sunday Summary #203

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and To Do Tuesday List.

I hope you all have had a wonderful week, filled with sunshine and fabric fun.

This past week was another busy one attending 5 meetings, taking over as Treasurer at the Guild, covering the Pro Shop one day at the Golf Club, 2 medical appointments for my DH, and I did get to have one whole day afternoon at the Guild to just play with fabric.

Considering the fact that I put in over 18,000 steps on Saturday at the tournament I’m just happy to be able to walk! 😅

My Last To-Do Goals:

First off, let’s see how I managed with my last week’s To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler. No progress 😢

2. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. I’d really like to finish getting at least the blocks in this bag sandwiched and quilted. Played a bit with these 😁

3. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. No progress 😢

4. Finish making the blocks from my crumb pieces. Did a bit with my crumb blocks 😁

5. Get busy working on Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it finished a while ago.. 🤩 No progress 😢

6. Finish the replacement green quilt by Wednesday evening to gift it to our Treasurer at the Guild who is retiring on June 4th. I just need to finish assembling the top, and then sandwich and quilt it on my little class machine (I’ve damaged both of my regular machines) or on my Featherweight. It’s doable if I make a flanged binding and do it on the machine rather than hand stitching the binding, but will be tight! I’m late but the quilting and squaring up is done. I’m just finishing the binding. It’ll be delivered later this week when I meet with Joanne to finish getting all of the Treasurer’s files. 😁

7. Continue fixing popped seams and stay stitching the edges of the next bin of quilt tops for Liz’s project. My only progress was to take a few quilt tops out of the bin to enjoy looking at them. 😁

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. ✅ Success! I stayed focussed on my list! 😁

This Week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler.

2. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. I’d really like to finish getting at least the blocks in this bag sandwiched and quilted. 😁

3. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty.

4. Finish making the blocks from my crumb pieces.

5. Get busy working on Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it finished a while ago.. 🤩

6. Finish binding the green quilt by Saturday when I’m meeting Joanne. All I can say is I really don’t like the work involved in quilting on a dsm. I really miss visiting my longarm. 😢I’m positive that in the next week or so I’ll find the original green stacked cubes quilt top now that I’ve replaced it 😉

7. Continue fixing popped seams and stay stitching the edges of the next bin of quilt tops for Liz’s project. I had a peek at some of the flimsies and it’s going to be fun to get in to these ones. 😁

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿.

Just look at how short my list is getting to be since I’m behaving and not starting anything new. 😉

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life and commitments lessen. 🤔

  • January 4/31
  • February 2/28
  • March 10/31
  • April 12/30
  • May 29/31
  • June 7/7
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total: 57/151
  • Total: 64/158
  • Percentage = 40.51 %

I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 8 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 15 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 9 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 186 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

It’s time to learn to use this baby. 😅

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

Last but not least I have to update my UFO Speadsheet and then try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability now that I have gone through everything in my storage room and sewing space. I’ve made some progress but still haven’t finished updating my list with my newly discovered/forgotten WIPs from my storage room bins and boxes. 😅

I use the spreadsheet that Quilting Gail shared several years ago, but I do need to update it!

This week I’ll even manage to link up with our To-Do Tuesday and the other parties I enjoy.

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. With all the non-quilting things you had to do this week just getting to touch a few projects was an accomplishment! And you got your steps in and then some so that too is plus. You got the lion’s share of the gift quilt done for the outgoing Treasurer. I personally love a good flannel backing — and pajama lefotvers? — Score!! She will love and cherish he quilt even more presented as part of your last hand-over meeting.

    1. Thank you Vivian. It did feel good to get so close to a finish finally. Isn’t it fun when you can use scraps to make something fun? Hope your week is going great and you are having fun stitching 😉

  2. You still managed to keep up with daily stitching even with your busy schedule. That’s impressive. Your green quilt turned out beautifully! Happy stitching this week. Hopefully you get a chance to slow down just a bit.

    1. Thank you Kate. I think my stitching time is keeping me sane these days. I’m happy to be close to getting a finish and hope you are doing the same and have your seek back! 😉
