Sunday Summary #194

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and To Do Tuesday List.

Once again it has been two weeks since I’ve had time to write my blog post. I have no progress to report as it’s been two weeks of medical appointments for DH, back and forth to help D, fundraising events at the Golf Club, Grant Writing for the Golf Club, meetings and doing a few days of sorting and pricing donated goods for my Guild’s annual fundraiser.

I am not changing anything on either section of my list other than to report more non-stitching days 😭. I keep thinking I’ll get some stitching time in and can actually say I will have Thursday at my Guild for stitching time and I might be able to attend on Saturday if my eye surgery goes well on Friday! 😎🤞🏻

My Last To-Do Goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow. No Progress but hopefully soon I will see well enough to make some progress. 😭

2. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. No Progress 😭

3. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. No Progress 😭

4. Finish making the blocks from my crumb blocks now that Monique has handed me another huge bag of brightly coloured scraps. No Progress 😭

5. Finish the pattern test. No Progress 😭

6. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL. No Progress 😭

7. Start piecing the borders to get this to a finished flimsy if I can find it. I seem to have misplaced it and I’m thinking I filed it in one of the bins under my cutting table. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. 🤔 No Progress 😭

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done. Decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔

8. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail just announced that she and several of my favourite bloggers are going to do what to me signals the start of the year! Yes the SAHRR 2025 will be starting this week. No Progress 😭

9. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. Success! The only sidetracking was done by life outside my sewing corner.

This Week’s goals:

I have no idea yet how much stitching time I’ll manage, but I’m still doing my list and keeping my hopes up🤞🏻

Now it’s time for my new To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow.

2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority.

3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their rounds on the SAHRR 2025.

Check with our friend Quilting Gail

4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing.😁

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty.

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned.

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it’s finished a while ago.. 🤩

8. Check to see if I left this at the studio. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. If I didn’t leave it at the studio I will have to remake it since I have to deliver a finished green quilt soon. It wasn’t at the studio so I’ll have to remake it. 😭

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done. Decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔

9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time.

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life time and commitments lessen. 🤔

  • January 4/31
  • February 1/15
  • these two weeks 0/14
  • Previous Total 5/32
  • Total: 5/46
  • Percentage = 10.87 %

I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 😁

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 12 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 188 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. My goal this year is to use 200 yards of fabric from my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

Last but not least I have finally updated my UFO Speadsheet and am now going to try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability.

I use the spreadsheet that Quilting Gail shared several years ago. 😁

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. I hope you get in both your Thursday and Saturday stitching fun. It’s hard to be running for others and not get a chance to recharge yourself. Hope your eye surgery went well.
