I have a dilemma!
I have an agreement to buy an item that I’ve dreamed of owning forever:

My problem is that it doesn’t have a case. Does anyone know of anyone with a case they might be interested in selling?
I use my machines, so this beauty would be going with me to the Guild for quilting days or when I’m teaching if I can find a case. It would also be my preferred travelling machine.
Then of course, I saw a lovely book on a blog post, A scrappy Quilter. Deb is a Canadian quilter that I follow. She just happened to show off this book and I know I will need it, if I go next week to pick up this machine.

I’m a bit nervous, but if I can take apart doorframes to fix broken striker plates, change the brakes on my car and replace batteries in IPads and IPhones, maintaining this beauty shouldn’t be too overwhelming, should it?
I also have another member of my Guild and her husband for resources since she just got her Featherweight a few months ago.
Any advice or suggestions? Know of anyone with a case or a suggestion where I might get one for a reasonable price? Is it worth spending $300.00?
Would it be the “perfect” addition to my sewing corner at home or my studio.

Thank in advance for any comments or suggestions. You do know that asking quilters about machines is a logical choice since I’m a pensioner and caregiver so spending money on anything is to be considered carefully 😅

I don’t own a Featherweight, but have friends who do, and they love them. There are some workshops on how to maintain them out there, so maybe someone will have some info for you on that. Might be a good question to ask on Instagram, too. Hope you get some answers!

Hi Wendy. One of my friends was just given a Featherweight. She and her husband serviced it and would teach me how I’m sure.

Thank you! I’ll check those out. I know Walmart in Canada doesn’t have them but I might get lucky. If not there’s always the Singer Featherweight shop. 😉

Ooh, another fun stitching adventure! I don’t own one, but learned to sew on one. Wish my mother had kept it.
