I Love Thursday #60

I’m joining a group of friends who get together via a linky party on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color to share list of things that bring them joy, inspire them or make them laugh.

My first bit of joy that I’d like to share is this:

Winter has returned to my part of the world and walks in the snow are so much nicer than walks in the rain! 😉

It’s wonderful to be able to go for walks now in the snow rather than rain!

Another thing that makes me happy and grateful is our wonderful online community of quilters. I can always find something to make me smile when I read the blogs I follow and the hops I take part in. This week has been so much fun with a Blog Hop that is hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt.

I’ve collected so many new recipes and ideas for next year’s Christmas projects. You can read about my post here and see the reading pillows I made for my two youngest granddaughters.

I really enjoy being a part of my Guild. Normally at the start of December we would have a pot luck luncheon and sharing but of course that isn’t a part of our new normal. At our Board meeting we decided we needed to have an in person meeting and sorted out a plan to do just that!

We held what might be our first annual bonfire, complete with hot cider, sharing and gathering all of the wonderful donations for the Christmas Hampers. 🎄

I’m extra grateful today for the healthcare we have here in Canada. On Tuesday my closest friend’s husband collapsed at work. He was in the doctor’s office that day and the hospital for X-rays that afternoon. Yesterday he had a cat scan and tomorrow he is back to the doctors to get his diagnosis and formulate his treatment plan to take care of the mass around his lungs. These are my dear friends that I go to help after her heart attack so I’m so very grateful that I am in a position to help and that our health care system will be acting so quickly to care for a very sweet, caring, generous man who always is the first to volunteer to help others.

I’m also grateful to know my daughter is able to help her children. She is now staying with my grandson and his wonderful partner helping with looking after Clarke and Grace and spending time with Levi while they all adjust to moving and settling in to a new home and community.

At this time of year it’s wonderful to be able to spend time with family and friends. Being able to help in any way is one of the biggest blessings we have.

Thank you for stopping in to read my post. You all are one of the best sources of joy and happiness in my life. I appreciate it when you click on the follow button and enjoy responding to your comments. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Oh I love the bonfire idea, and that your members are so open for solutions outside of the box! Such a pretty view and I agree, even though cold snow is preferable to the rain and mud. Great list of things to like and be thankful for. Oh and I love the virtual cookie exchange!

  2. Cookies, guilds, and bonfires. A winning combination any time! Sorry to hear about your friend’s health issue. That sounds pretty scary. Wishing him and everyone that cares about him the very best wishes!
