I’m joining a group of friends who get together via a linky party on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color some weeks to share list of things that bring them joy, inspire them or make them laugh.
It’s been forever since I had a chance to write my list of likes/loves. Life and emotional upheaval has been causing some issues, but it can only get better, right?!? 😉
Our weather here has been wet, drizzly, and wet by turns. The good thing about that is the wildfires are out and our creeks and rivers are running high. We still have some pretty coloured foliage to enjoy and our sunrises and sunsets have been pretty, especially when we get some peeks at pretty, blue sky.

I always enjoy seeing projects of items being repurposed, but this has to be one of the best ever:

I have been enjoying getting out for daily walks along our trail system and have been enjoying seeing the fall growth including these fungi:
It’s the time of year I enjoy, creating little projects to donate to our annual Christmas hampers. I’ve been having fun, pulling out scraps and leftover bits of Christmas fabrics and seeing what ideas I can come up with to create a few things to bring some joy to the families and seniors that are the recipients of the hampers. I miss the preCovid days when the kids at the annual dinner would go in the back room with volunteers to pick out gifts that they would then wrap for their parents. Now we try to make a variety of quilted, sewn, knitted or crocheted projects for volunteers to pop in the hamper with all of the goodies to make a family Christmas dinner.

My goal is to get 36 little gifts made by the December 10th deadline. 😄
Last week my Guild sponsored a Meet and Greet with Sylvia Olsen via Zoom. On her last cross country tour she had stopped at our Guild and taught a workshop on Salish Knitting. I had missed the workshop, but really enjoyed meeting her via Zoom and was thrilled to win a copy of her newest book. It was m birthday present from Sylvia since my birthday was the closest to her Zoom Date with all of us! How much fun is that? I’m hoping this book has her pattern for the Maple Leaves, but was so excited that I forgot to ask. 🤔 It’s in the mail so I should be receiving it any day now.

Thank you for stopping in to read my post. I appreciate it when you click on the follow button and enjoy responding to your comments. 😉 Carol
oh I am so embarrassed. I kept coming to see if you posted, and was on your main site. I didn’t think to look for the button at the top, blog posts. Well I corrected that! You’re linked in now Carol… I’m so sorry. It has been a hard month is my only explanation Leeanna

Hi LeeAnna. It’s been a while since I posted on I Like Thursday, so don’t apologize. This year is just getting harder as the time goes by so I can totally sympathize 😉

Wonderful post! It is hard to do these loves every week; I so admire those that can. I love that truck – for other people to be true. The mushrooms are quite something!

Thank you Kathleen. Isn’t that truck fun? Good thing I’m not adventurous. My book says half of those fungi are edible but I’m not too brave 😉

I’ve been so AWOL! I happened to be looking over Jo’s Donation Crew and found you, so I hunted in my email so I could come back and see you! It has been a difficult 2 years, I agree, but friends are always still there…quietly!!

Hi Carol! Well, Happy Birthday late. I’m sorry I missed wishing you on the day. {{Hugs}} It sounds like your 36 goal for the hampers sounds doable and right up your alley. I am sorry you’re feeling low and challenged to find likes for the week. That’s not you! Congrats on winning the knitting book. ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne. I think the grey skies from all of the rain which we do need are getting to me. The hamper project is picking up my spirits though. It’s always good to give back to our community. 😉
