Scrap Happy September

A while back I noticed a fun bunch of people were posting the 15th of the month with write ups about fun scrappy projects they’ve been working on. The only restriction is that the fabrics have to all be scraps; no Yardage included!

Here’s the list of people who sometimes write about their scrappy adventures.

Kate, Gun, Eva, Sue, Lynn, Lynda,
Birthe, Turid, Susan, Cathy, Tracy, Jill,
Claire, Jan, Moira, Sandra, Chris, Alys,
Kerry, Claire, Jean, Jon, Dawn, Jule,
Gwen, Bekki, Sunny, Kjerstin, Sue L,
Vera, Nanette, Ann, Dawn 2, Bear,
Carol, Preeti, Edith and Debbierose

For me September has me tied up with other things (gotta hate it when life gets in the way of sewing time🤔) but I have a few bits and pieces and projects on the go using scraps and orphan blocks.

This fun quilt top is from the Flat Topped Scrappy Pyramid pattern by Becky at Quilted Twins. I used al lot of scrappy squares and off cut triangles from another project that had been sitting in the scrap bin.

Next I started playing with some off cuts and leftover bits from a couple of other quilts and came up with a quilt top that will be a lap quilt for a friend in a wheel chair.

The bottom was pieced a bit differently since I’m putting pockets on the backing side for wallet, cell phone etc and wanted an easy way to differentiate top and bottom.

Then I pulled some leftover HST’s from cutting off the corners of triangles or Flying Geese and made a quick dog bed for Roxy for when she comes to visit us.

Of course I have an ongoing leader ender project making hundreds of four patches, some with 2” squares and some with 2 1/2” squares.

I’m also playing with other leftover orphan blocks and think I might have come up with a plan for these:

Thank you for stopping by. 😄 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
