One of my favourite designers is Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. I have enjoyed doing her qal’s and love her patterns.
She had mentioned that she is almost ready for her next QAL so of course I had to volunteer to test her pattern.
My fabric pull was easy since I had a bundle of Kona solids that I planned on using. I also had a piece of backing fabric leftover from another project that I particularly liked and wanted to use. The cutting didn’t take long for the throw sized quilt.
My printer had died and there seems to be a shortage in the stores so I did my cutting from reading the pattern on my iPad. Oops! I cut half of the pieces for the throw and half for the baby quilt.
I did some re-cutting and had the baby quilt finished in no time.
I always enjoy working with Sandra’s patterns. The fabric requirements are usually very close with only bits leftover. Her cutting directions are clear and the piecing directions are straight forward with good illustrations.
I’m working on a throw sized version now and might even get to link up with her QAL.

Hi Carol! I used Kona solids for my version of FYOP. How about that?! Ooh, your Grunge-ish or Stonehenge-ish background looks fab, too. It’s nice to have what you need right on hand, isn’t it?! I would definitely make another version of this quilt. Sue just told me earlier this week that she LOVES the arrow quilt and that we are not getting rid of it. Okay then! I love it, too. Hi Roseanne I love your version with the Kona solids. The background on my baby version was a leftover piece of backing fabric that I really loved. I’m working on getting the new one finished but might not make it. In the meantime I can content myself with knowing it will get done eventually 😉. No stress or pressure here 🥴

I love the baby quilt you ended up (lol) making! That background sure is a good one. Are you going to quilt it on your longarm? I do hope you get the throw done before June 15, but yeah, no pressure; all good! Fingers crossed this FB way lets me post; I don’t have the google option anymore, so annoying.

Hi Sandra. Yes the baby quilt is going on the frame when I get to the studio. I have a ruler work plan figured out and even drawn out already. I’m working on the throw, but with a couple of deadlines I might not make it until later. I figure better late than never for this one. I really do love this pattern 😉
