H2H Update and Scrap Happy Days

Every year Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict organizes the Hands to Help Charity Quilt Challenge to encourage quilters everywhere to do a bit more charity quilting. She usually has a list of 5 or 6 charities that could use our support.

One of those charities is here in Canada and is a bit different from the others. Linda Miller collects quilt tops along with an extra block. Then a group of volunteers from one of the Ontario chapter of Victoria’s Quilts Canada finish the tops and make a presentation bag with the extra 12 1/2” block. It makes it so much easier for us to send multiple quilt tops.

I also send orphan blocks to Linda as she also has a couple of extra charities she works with.

So far I have these tops finished and ready to go to Linda, but I’d like to get a few more finished:

These next blocks should be another finished quilt top next week:

It’s fun to see how quickly these tops can come together since I have my precut 2” and 2 1/2” squares and leftover hst’s ready to go in my scrap storage system.

I love my pizza boxes and try to start a new project as the boxes get filled.

Here’s the list of the participants in the Scrap Happy Challenge:

Kate, Gun, Eva, Sue, Lynn, Lynda, Birthe,
Turid, Susan (me!), Cathy, Tracy, Jill,
Claire, Jan, Moira, Sandra, Chris, Alys,
Kerry, Claire93, Jean, Jon, Hayley, Dawn,
Gwen, Bekki, Sue L, Sunny, Kjerstin,
Vera, Nanette, Ann, Dawn 2, Nancy,
Noreen, Bear, Carol, Edi, Preeti

It’s always fun to see what everyone is doing with their scrap collection.

Thank you for reading my post. I do enjoy knowing you spend some of your time with me. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Love how organised your scrappy projects are 🙂 I likee the challenge my scrappy work brings, as I’m new to all the fabrics; my scraps come from Days for Girls and the fun lies is making wildly different fabrics, colours and print styles work and sing together in the scrap quilts I make for them. Welcome to ScrapHappy, and I can’t wait to see what else you’ll have in store for us in the months to come.

    1. Hi Kate. I have to be organized! My sewing space is about 4’ square in our little apartment. I really enjoy seeing your Days for Girls projects come to life. Thank you for allowing me to share with all of you 😉
