Thursday is the day of the week that a group of friends get together via a linky party on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color to count our blessings and share some happy things.
One of the things that made me happy has been being able to get out for walks the last few days. I hadn’t realized how badly cabling fever was setting in, until I found myself sorting my scrap boxes of 2”, 2 1/2” and 3” squares into not only colors; but into light, medium, dark values! The walks were definitely needed to blow out the cobwebs. 🥴
I checked the weather last night since I have to take DH to town tomorrow for tests at the hospital. While he is in there I will run over and pick up our grocery order and his prescriptions. Have I mentioned I love curbside pickup and on line shopping?
Here’s our forecast (keep in mind it is is Celsius, not Fahrenheit);
I just love seeing those numbers above freezing and wish that was the case in America. It’s just heartbreaking to see and read about the tragedies occurring due to the severe winter conditions. I can only hope this winter system will break. I’m guessing that it should start to warm by the weekend in the most severe hit areas going by how the Arctic Front has been moving these past couple of days.
I’m really liking the way this next quilting project is coming along. This is the Eagle pattern by Phillips Fibre Art.
Then of course their is our latest little charmer, my great granddaughter;

Your great grandchildren and grandchildren are just adorable!! Especially the picture of her sliding under the gate 🙂
We are here amid the record colds down south, but luckily still have heat and power and water. My friends and family further south in Texas have it worse- about ten degrees warmer, but their power grid is collapsing so they don’t have power or water. My cousins just got back water yesterday but the water treatment plant is still down so they have to boil it. Better than nothing though!
Your comment about the F/C temperature made me smile- when the weather first started to get cold here in Oklahoma, I brought a thermometer home from the lab to try to keep track of how cold it actually was (vs. predicted). Of course it was in celsius, so I’ve been back converting all week. I gave up trying to track it when it went what looked like three or four degrees below the bottom of the marked lines (which ended at -20 C), but we’re back up to about -5 today so I’m grateful!!

Thank you Shannon. The grands and greats are pretty special I think. Our Clarke is a brave one. She loves to climb but right now just wants to be beside her baby sister all the time.
I’m glad you are warm, have power and water but seeing everyone that doesn’t have them is just heart wrenching. I know this cold weather hasn’t been record setting for Texas and Oklahoma but is so seldom seen there. Here in Canada it is common but we are prepared for it. When I lived up north we had generators and always kept bottled water (by the 5 gallon jug) on hand. It’s good that it is warming up a bit. 😳

Hi Carol! HAHA – just look at Clarke crawling under the gate. Cute little stinker! I just LOVE it. And Grace is such a beautiful baby. Hi Roseanne. I thought you’d get a chuckle at Clarke’s antics. They put the gate up to keep her out of Grace’s room but it’s not working. 😉. I do have some pretty cute grands and great grands and would dearly love to be able to hug them even just once. Maybe by year’s end. 😁

Your family is beautiful and precious! NC has been colder than we are accustomed to, but I know I shouldn’t complain – it’s a dern heat wave compared to so much of the US! We expect a gift of 50 deg. tomorrow – yeah!!

Pretty snow. I have not been walking enough the last few weeks – finally getting out this week. I agree – what a difference it makes! That eagle pattern looks awesome. Cute kids!

Glad you are using the online shopping and curbside pick up. Keeps you all safe. Isn’t it funny the temps get above that freezing mark and we are happy as little lams. I will say I don’t mind the snow, but I like the blue sky days, gray sky days mean more snow. Your newest little one is a sweetie. Great pics of all your grands. They grow up so quickly.

Hi Colette. It’s funny but to me the blue skies usually bring the cold temperatures. It’s warmer here when it is snowing. Another advantage to online shopping; no impulse buying 😉 You are so right about the littles growing so quickly. I’m thinking that little Grace will be walking before I get to meet her 😢
