Started my day seeing this;

So far DH has cleared off the carport twice! We’ve had 14 inches since 2:00 this morning and it’s still coming down. Winter has arrived in full force. Update: DH did it 2 more times; I’ve done it once! Winter is here! ❄️⛄️❄️
My morning is being spent getting caught up with emails, reading blogs and doing the necessary household chores. I had to go to town yesterday to pick up DH’s prescriptions so I stocked up on some groceries to be ready for the possibility of being snowed in. Am I ever glad I did!
I have several quilt projects on the go right now (no surprise there 😉) but I’m thinking I need to find my knitting or crocheting or some hand stitching work in case the power goes out. We often have 6 -8 hour outages so it’s time to be ready.
I know I have socks on the needles as well as a shawl. It seems to me I have a scarf started for a crochet pattern. It’s funny but the arrival of snow always has me wanting to play with wool as well as fabric.

I think the need to play with wool has something to do with the snuggly warmth you only get from wool; slippers, socks, shawls, sweaters, etc.

Perhaps it’s time to start Shine by Elizabeth Eastmond? I have fabrics I have been saving to do a kaleidoscope quilt but this lovely pattern has me intrigued. 😉. I’ve not done much in the way of hand piecing so I think it’s time to challenge myself with another new project for this crazy year 😉

Now I just need to find the fabric bin I put away. 🤔. Back to the storage room I go as soon as I finish my Nanaimo Bars. DH has a voracious sweet tooth so I thought I would/should reward all his hard work shovelling snow with a sweet, chocolatey treat; one of his favourites!

What are you doing for fun on this Friday the 13th?
Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your visits and comments and love it when you follow me! 😄 Carol
Oh my, look at all that snow! I think I’d like hanging with you during a storm. You have all the good things ready to go; those bars look yummy and I love the slippers! Tuck in, stay safe, and enjoy!

Thank you Wendy. I think I’d like to hang with you in your studio any time! You always have so much fun! I think I’m going to make some shortbread cookies now; must be winter 😉

Hi Carol,

Those Nanaimo bars … oh they look fantastic!
Happy Quilting or knitting or baking … 🙂

Hi Gail. I’ve got your share of snow here. I’m just heading back out to shovel the carport again. I think after dinner it just might be sitting and knitting time and avoiding the Nanaimo Bars 😄

Holy moly, Carol! That’s a lot of snow. It looks pretty but you can keep it for now. I’m in no rush for that whole winter thing. Your chocolate bars look delicious! Now that’s the kind of squirrel I could invite in. HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne. It was a lot of heavy wet snow! Took me an hour to shovel the walkway in to the Guild this morning, but we had fun. 😉. The bars were a nice treat and the squirrels are having fun chasing me. 😉

So much snow! We rarely get more than a dusting. I do miss the higher volume snows of Minnesota but I don’t miss winter that feels like it lasts forever! Your sweet treats look delicious! Hope you can find some fun hand sewing for potential power outages!

Emily I managed everything on my To Do List except finding the hand sewing. Spent today at the Guild though masked and socially distanced Sew much fun 😉

Wow! The snow is beautiful! Today it is almost 80 in Texas. I wish for a white Christmas. It has happened once in 20 years.

I think we should trade places. Oh sorry can’t. The border is still closed 😷
