I Love Thursday’s

I was first introduced to I Love Thursday’s by reading Sue and Roseanne’s blog Home Sewn By Us. Through their blog I discovered LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Colour. It made me stop and think how fun it would be to actually write a list of so many of the blessings I have in my life!

I love all the memes that give us a chuckle in these crazy times.

I like the fact that while I had to help some dear friends in crisis, I managed to pick up my roll of batting that has been waiting for me for a couple of months! Oh wait! That means that pile of To Be Quilted tops are calling and I have no excuses to not get at them! 🥴

I love the view from my friend’s house, even on a not so sunny day in the Okanagan Valley!

I like the fact that DH thought I would be tired after spring cleaning a 4500 sq ft house, meal prep for two weeks and getting the house set up for my friend’s release from hospital, so I came home to laundry and dishes done, and freshly vacuumed and washed floors. I might need to go back soon to help my friends! 😉

I love DH and so appreciate it when he helps. More and more I know I made the right choice. He is a keeper!

I love that my grandson only suffered a concussion and a scratched hand after rolling his truck last night. Some days I’m sure that young man has an angel on his shoulder.

I’m happy to be home since the machine that I love has decided she is over her temper tantrum and is working so well! Progress is happening on the quilt I’m trying to finish before month end.

Love the progress; hate burying threads!

I love sharing my bits and pieces of news and hopping around the internet to see what everyone else is doing! So much inspiration and squirrels chasing ides around my mind………where to start? I must have my sewjo back!

I really love the fact that my sense of humour is reasserting itself. It has been in short supply in the last month. I have been giggling over Canada Post’s service levels. At one time for a decade, I was a postal worker and took great pride in the fact that our processing plant had the highest productivity and level of maintains our service commitments. Here in Canada you can purchase (for an unreasonably high fee) Express Service with a guaranteed delivery time of two days within our province. On May 18 I purchased a gift for a friend who is having an issue with emotional distress from the Covid lockdown. It was a new walking foot for her new machine. With her LQS being closed and her not using the internet easily, I thought it might cheer her up. I had a great deal from an online seller, paid more for shipping than I did the foot. It’s still not delivered, but the seller and I are having a chuckle and sharing shipping nightmare stories! Luckily we are both being entertained and my friend doesn’t know about the surprise so she isn’t stressing either! I’m just curious to see a photo of the shipment because the seller told me I would have a giggle when I saw the box she used. I’ll have to post a photo when it arrives at my friend’s house, if it ever does!

Have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! I love that you joined in on the Likes/Loves Thursday. Sometimes I swear I’m not going to have a single thing to say but always manage to come up with some. Other weeks I have oodles of them! DH sounds like a keeper – good for the two of you. So glad you were able to pick up your batting, and that your machine is behaving itself after its hissy fit. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Yay for your being able to get your batting, but those squirrels may have to sit tight while you finish a few projects now – haha! And yippee that your machine is back to working! So much fun stuff in this post. Your DH is definitely a keeper 😉

  4. Lots of good loves there, but my favorite is about your husband. =) It looks like sewing is the order of the day around your house! I love that view. What an amazing thing to look out and see that whenever one wanted.

    1. Hi Susan. Isn’t that view wonderful? I love going to visit these friends just so I can see that lake. I still miss seeing it every day! DH is a keeper, isn’t he? 😉 Carol
