May 17-23 To Do List

This is my last posted list for my goals. Unfortunately I was knocked down by the flu; while not Covid, it was a particular nasty bug. I am starting to feel better but don’t yet have an abundance of energy.

1. Finish Vortex to flimsy stage. Done!

2. Start quilting either of the two sandwiched quilts. Trinkets is Halfway Done!

Quilting has begun on Spring into Summer

5. Keep knitting socks. I only need to make 10 more pairs before Christmas. No Progress

6. Keep working on my rag rug. No progress.

7. Finish my pattern draft for the fall blog hop. Done

8. Start the design for an upcoming Blog Hop in June; Stitching Sunshine. Drafted.

In the middle of the bug attack I received a call from my son. Two of my granddaughters have submitted requests for bean bag chairs, complete with colour selections. What’s a Nana to do? Move it to the top of the list, of course! 😉

This is the new list of goals for the week:

1. Draft pattern for the bean bag chairs. Pull fabric and get it cut.

2. Finish quilting Trinkets. My quilting machine has died, so this will be put on hold until it goes to the doctor to see if it can be fixed. Funny noises and thread breaking, no stitches. Oh My! Cleaned it and made sure there were no threads in the feed dogs. Put in a new needle, a freshly filled bobbin and retreaded it to no avail. 😭

3. Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop project. Finalize pattern and pull fabrics.

4. Keep knitting socks. I only need to make 10 more pairs before Christmas.

5. Try to finish my rag rug.

A shorter list this week while I try to get my energy back. Totally doable!

Just remember:

Let the squirrels run free!

What are you working on this week?

😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. I hope you are fully back to 100% soon; I’m sorry you got that bug. And now your machine has a bug – boo. You have some good projects togged up for the week – sneak some rest in there too. Hope you post a pic of the bean bags progress – will be fun to see them.

  2. Hi Carol! Oh no, I’m so sorry you are feeling poorly. You need to lay low and give yourself time to recover. I’m glad it’s not COVID, though. Well yeah, Nana. All those requests need to go to the front of the line! You have plenty of projects to keep you busy for the rest of the month but don’t forget to get some rest and relaxation in there, too. Or you’ll have a relapse. Thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thank you Roseanne. I’m starting to feel better but taking care and resting. I think if I get the bean bag chairs done this week I’ll be happy but more would be better! 😉 Carol

    1. Thanks Gail. I am starting to feel a bit more like myself. So far I am still trying to fix my machine so I can finish quilting a half done quilt (with no luck) and looking on line to see if I can find a reasonably priced second hand machine (I’m a retiree so funds are slim 😊). I just might have to put everything on hold for a while or find some handwork or do my knitting. I do need 10 more pairs of socks for grands and great grands for Christmas 😄
